Some buyers may be wary of choosing a used crane from a manufacturer that has since gone out of business. But when you choose Harold Potter Ltd you don’t need to worry about this. We have an extensive range of spare parts for both current and obsolete cranes. If none of the parts that we stock are compatible with your Used Jib Crane we can manufacture from a pattern. Structure of a Used Jib Crane Jib cranes are simple structures with a horizontal jib (or boom). The jib is supported by either an existing feature of a building – a pillar or a wall, for example – or it may be attached to a freestanding column. The boom is fitted with a hoist, which can move up and down the boom, allowing for both vertical and horizontal movement. The Used Jib Crane may also be able to move loads in an arc – but this depends on how the lifting equipment has been installed. The boom is normally able to pivot; the range of movement will depend on how your crane has been installed. A wall-mounted jib can only give a maximum of 180 degrees boom rotation. If you need a full 360 degrees of boom rotation you should consider fitting your lifting equipment to a floor-mounted pillar. Why Choose a Used Jib Crane? The Used Jib Crane is an excellent piece of lifting equipment for basic lifting solutions. Their simple structure makes them easy to install and use, and they tend to be found in small-scale factories. However if you need a second hand crane for large-scale industrial applications you should consider a different type of used overhead crane. Jib Cranes have a WLL of just 125kg, making them unsuitable for precise lifting of heavy equipment. We can help you choose the ideal second hand lifting gear for you – whether it’s a Used Jib Crane, or another type of crane.
